After some extensive touring as a solo act as well as with Gorillaz on their worldwide tour, Little Simz is officially coming back with more music. With her junior album right around the corner, she premiers her latest single “Selfish“, enlisting the help of West London singer/songwriter Cleo Sol.
Soulful, simplistic and piano-led, it lends itself to Simz’s creative knack for adopting and experimenting with different sounds and influences to express her poetic lyricism, and definitely favours Sol’s ethereal vocal styling that captures listeners’ attention. Credit to Inflo on production.
Jeremy Ngatho Cole provides us with a 70’s esque style music video. The dimly lit room captures the mood of the song and the soft panning and one-take effect of the visuals are a further beautiful added touch. It’s performative vibe lets the music speak for itself.
Little Simz is in good form. She has dropped a string of hot singles in lead up to her release and she was just recently included on the Coachella 2019 lineup. GREY Area, her brand new album will be available on March 1.
