Paul Thomas Anderson is officially on board to write and potentially direct Warner Bros. and Robert Downey Jr’s live-action adaptation of Carlo Collodi’s novel Pinocchio. The feature has been in development for a number of years but has been encouraged to speed up production due to the success of Disney’s live-action Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella. Bryan Fuller and Jane Goldman are screenwriters to have produced earlier drafts. Robert Downey Jr. is to star as Gepetto and produce alongside Susan Downey and Dan Jinks.
