Liz Phair has released her first song in two years entitled “Hey Lou“, and the music video has premiered on her official YouTube channel as well.
The video stars puppet versions of some very iconic artists, and according to Liz, “it imagines a day in life of two music legends, whose union was an inspiration for rock bands and a source of curiosity for die hard romantics”.
She addresses the romance story between Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson, supposing how they might have felt during their private relations in her new song. Phair asks us with the song: “have you ever wondered what love looks like for your favorite celebrity couple behind closed doors?”
“Hey Lou” is the latest single from Liz Phair’s next studio album Soberish, which is going to be released this summer. The recently released single contains perfect lyrics, catchy hook and cheering guitar melody.
The single was produced by Brad Wood, who collaborated with Liz earlier in 2019 on the song “Good Side”, as well as her previous albums Exile in Guyville and Whip-Smart.
Phair will be hosting a livestream Hey Lou, Hey Liz and Q&A session with Brad Wood on March 3 to discuss the single and her upcoming project, but for now, check out the “Hey Lou” music video down below and we guarantee that you will spend the rest of your day singing “Hey Lou, hey Lou”!
