Up and coming UK rapper Royal has released a new song titled “Precious”, in which, he sings and raps with an incredible ease and the lyrics express a pain felt from deep inside as he reflects on the intensity of 21st century relationships.
He explains this on the chorus line, “You’re too precious to be here, that’s what daddy told you…” Two people’s relationship can be tainted because of others, something he is familiar with and wanted to put out on a track.
As the emotion of the lyrics surge, the melodies marry it, and the accompanying visuals, created by 49 To Midnight Films, match the intensity also. It captures see Royal contemplating his relationship’s fate, as he sinks in bath water to avoid the confusing dilemma that awaits him.
The London rapper found his love for music because as the son of a preacher, the power of gospel music drove him to discover other genders such as hip-hop and R&B, three styles that are visible in his playlists today.
After an appearance performing his debut single on BBC One’s The Apprentice raised intrigue, he turns up the scene, from touring with East London maestro Hak Baker and releasing two sick tunes “Gutter” and “Happy”.
