Sparks Teams Up With Marion Cotillard And Adam Driver On New Song ‘So May We Start’ | Film News

With just a few weeks to go before the 74th edition of the Cannes Film Festival opens, the film industry is starting to shake up.

We already know that Annette will have the honor of opening the festivities, one year after the aborted edition. The opening film, Annette, is a musical comedy that will also mark the return of Leos Carax to the cinema, nine years after Holy Motors.

This time the director will focus on the birth of Annette, the little girl with the “exceptional destiny” conceived by Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver. The film will be set in modern-day Los Angeles and will highlight the careers of Henri, a stand-up comedian, and Ann, a renowned singer.

To tease this extremely glamorous love film, Annette has revealed herself in song, promising a wonderful soundtrack that will reveal all the dreaminess of Leos Carax. In Sparks‘ “So May We Start”, Adam Driver, Marion Cotillard, and Simon Helberg can be heard singing.

“Initially, we conceived ‘Annette’ as another Sparks album”, Sparks said in an official press release.

“Yet this time it would be a narrative story that would consist of three main characters, a small enough ensemble that would allow us to also present the ‘opera’ live on tour…. The music, story and album were finished and ready to go, which is where the story takes a huge detour”.

While waiting for the red carpet to be rolled out, here is the music for the film, which will be released on July 6, alongside the opening of the Cannes Film Festival.
