Independent LA-based singer-songwriter ZØYA aka Zoya Naumchik has officially released her latest single, “This Is The End,” on August 9, 2023. The poignant track is a heartfelt tribute to her late grandmother, who passed away unexpectedly three years ago.
The song elegantly captures the intricate emotions of grief, love, and remorse. It features Zoya’s powerful yet celestial high notes as she seeks to communicate a poignant “Goodbye” to her beloved grandmother.
“This Is The End is a tribute to my beloved grandmother,” ZØYA shares. “She was the embodiment of selflessness, hard work, and love, clothed in strength and dignity. This song is a reminder to myself and others that it’s OK to grieve for a loved one(s), but also that it’s possible to choose to move on and find your way out of it because they are now in a better place.”
Jazz, gospel, and worship music were integral in ZØYA’s household while she was growing up. Her passion for music and artistry began to flourish at an early age. She started composing poetry and songs at the tender age of six. By the time she was 13, she had already recorded her first worship music album, entitled Shalom.
Many of ZØYA’s songs, such as “Chaos in My Head” from her debut EP Veracious Heart, along with “I Still Believe,” are reflective of the challenges she encountered as a teenager. Notably, “I Still Believe” resonated deeply with listeners and received widespread airplay on over 300 college radio stations in the US, as well as local radio stations in the US, UK, and Russia.
In addition to her compelling and vibrant stage presence, ZØYA is an artist with a strong social conscience. She is outspoken and deeply concerned about a range of social issues, including immigration, human trafficking, education, poverty, and children’s welfare.
