Martina Armour, a singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles and Gothenburg, has released her new track, “Sad Song.” The song reflects on a relationship filled with fake promises and red flags. After the relationship ends, a nostalgic song brings back memories. “Sad Song” aims to haunt the person who caused the pain whenever they hear it on the radio.
Martina Armour’s music combines folk-pop sounds with melancholic lyrics and clear vocals. Her inspirations include Fleetwood Mac, Brandi Carlile, and James Bay. Martina’s heartfelt storytelling and emotional depth shine through in her songs.
Originally from Sweden, Martina moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams. In 2019, she released her first single, “Trouble,” making her mark in the music industry. She followed up with “Knife” and “On the Run,” which showcased her artistic abilities.
Martina’s debut EP, What It Feels Like, includes six songs, one of which is a cover of Fleetwood Mac’s “Storms.” Mick Fleetwood personally approved this cover in a video message to Martina.
Martina has been a three-time semi-finalist in the International Songwriting Competition. “Sad Song” and “Love to Gold” from her upcoming EP, and Slowly Lifting from her debut EP, were recognized in this competition. Martina’s passion for music has led her to collaborate with musicians locally and internationally and write music for film and TV.
Her song “Everything” is featured in the soundtrack of the film “Dylan & Zoey” on Hulu and Starz. Martina’s music has also been recognized in Sweden. She was part of the top 100 in the Denniz Pop Awards 2022, which aims to recognize new talents and contributors to Sweden’s international pop music heritage.
Martina’s recent single, “Run with the River,” was featured on season 5 of “Love is Blind” on Netflix. Currently, she is working on her next EP, set to be released later this year. Martina continues to play live shows in Los Angeles, most recently at The Hotel Cafe.
Regarding “Sad Song,” Martina said, “It’s about the times you can’t forget, even if you want to.” This new track is another example of her ability to connect deeply with her audience. With her unique blend of folk-pop, heartfelt lyrics, and clear vocals, Martina Armour continues to make a significant impact on the music scene.
