Don’t worry Potterheads. If you’ve had any doubts over whether Warner Bros upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will live up to the magical level of Harry Potter, you can rest easy. Neville Longbottom himself, (Matthew Lewis) has paid a visit to the movie’s set to meet Newt Scamander star Eddie Redmayne and left a rather positive verdict over Twitter, stating “The world of HP [Harry Potter] is in very safe hands”. Phew!
Set in 1926, seventy years before Harry’s story begins, the movie follows protagonist Newt throughout his adventures in New York City, where he’s aspiring to study the abundance of magical creatures within the wizarding world. His research is eventually published into a book, which becomes a renowned piece at Hogwarts. However, expect Newt to face some problems along the way, particularly ones involving a muggle named Jacob…
Alongside Redmayne, the film will also star Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Samantha Morton (Mary Lou). The movie is currently due for release 18 November, 2016, so get your galleons ready! See Lewis’ tweet and the movie’s trailer below:
Oh, forgot to say, I was on the set of Fantastic Beasts last week. Spoke to Eddie and I tell you now, the world of HP is in very safe hands.
