New York-based duo Me Not You have dropped a brand new single “I Should Know Better”. The powerful alt-pop anthem is taken from their debut album Already Gone coming out on November 8.
Me Not You was formed in New York by Eric Zeiler and Nikki Taylor, devoted fans of Lou Reed and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Aphex Twin, and Pixies, the band produce vibrant infectious tunes lead by gothic bass lines and memorable, entrancing vocals.
The group have been backed by a number of influential music publications, including Billboard, Stereogum, Noisey and Earmilk. They also joined Gary Numan on his North American tours, opening for him at such venues as Brooklyn’s Fillmore and NYC’s Brooklyn Steel.
Me Not You have two successful EPs in their repertoire, Reckoning and Reckoning 2. Now, the duo is sharing another track previewing their upcoming debut LP Already Gone, set for release in November via MNY Music. “I Should Know Better” follows the previously unveiled “I Don’t Blame You” and “Not Fine”.
The latest offering from Me Not You can be described as a dreamy garage-pop anthem, which blends together a multi-layered addictive melody and honest unsettling lyrics. “No great decisions are ever made at 3 am…”, the band said. “‘I Should Know Better’ is about doing the thing you know you’ll come to regret the next day. Choosing to revel in the moment rather than being responsible”.
