American rapper Meek Mill has announced his nationwide tour titled The Motivation. This will be his first official tour after his release from prison in April. The tour will be produced by Live Nation and will start on February 19, 2019 in Miami, Florida and make stops in 16 cities across the U.S., including Chicago, New York and his hometown Philadelphia before wrapping up in Atlanta, Georgia on March 24, 2019.
Before the major tour, Mill will appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on November 28 and will eventually be joining Elliott Wilson for an episode of CRWN to discuss the production of his new album Championships on December 2. Moreover, the Philadelphia rapper has partnered with Foot Locker and Puma for special Championships exclusives.
On November 26, an essay by Meek Mill, “Prisoners Need a New Set of Rights”, has been published by The New York Times where the artist has written about his experience with the criminal justice system. Mill has said:
“Like many who are currently incarcerated, I was the victim of a miscarriage of justice—carried out by an untruthful officer, as determined by the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office, and an unfair judge. The ordeal cost me my most precious commodity: my freedom. I served five months. With the help of friends and the intervention of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, I was released on bail this past April and was able to resume my life”.
Meek Mill will be releasing his forthcoming album Championships on November 30.
