Zooey Deschanel‘s absence from New Girl has left some pretty big shoes to fill as the actress is currently taking time off for maternity leave – explained on the show as Jess being sequestered for jury duty.
To try to fill the void, Megan Fox (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) has been cast in a recurring guest star role as Zooey Deschanel‘s temporary replacement on the show.
Fox will play Reagan, a gorgeous, straight-shooting pharmaceutical sales rep who comes to town on business and shakes things up in the loft when she rents out Jess’ room while she is sequestered on jury duty. They may miss Jess, but knowing the housemates, they’ll be more than happy to make Reagan feel welcome in the loft.
New Girl stars Zooey Deschanel as Jess, Jake Johnson as Nick, Max Greenfield as Schmidt, Lamorne Morris as Winston and Hannah Simone as Cece. The episode airs on February 9 on FOX.
