Miguel caused an uproar when he recently claimed that he makes ‘better music’ than Frank Ocean but now the singer is retracting his comments and wants to ‘clear the air’. When the remark was made, the singer admitted that his competitive side got the better of him. He has now said that the music industry has room for everyone.
On his Instagram page, he wrote: “I want to clear the air. Yes, I am competitive, we all have to have a level of confidence and competitiveness to put ourselves on the line day in and day out. But I also believe there’s room for all artists. I guess what I’m saying is, there’s no need to compare apples to oranges, there’s something out there for everyone“.
In a previous interview with The Sunday Times where comparisons between him, Frank Ocean and The Weeknd was being discussed, he replied saying, “it’s interesting, but we’ll see who’s in it for the long haul. It’s like a marathon, you know?”. Later this year Miguel will be performing three live shows at London, Birmingham and Manchester and he has also recently released his third album Wildheart to critical acclaim.
