MNEK – Tongue | New Music

Talented pop maestro MNEK looks set to launch himself this year with his long-awaited debut album. Last night, the campaign begun with the release of his leading single from the project, “Tongue” premiering exclusively on Annie Mac‘s BBC Radio 1 show.

This new track is pop for all the right ways. With a punchy baseline, thick synths and a creative vocal arrangement, “Tongue” is a catchy, infectious, sexually-charged electronic banger about something actually really quite sweet, the idea of falling for someone and being too nervous to say it. But you know when you just can’t help yourself and it slips out? Totally relatable.

MNEK told The FADER: “‘Tongue’ is one of my favorite songs from the album. It’s fun, it’s sexy, and it’s different to anything I’ve put out before. It is an indication of me taking risks with my new music. The album is something I’m so proud of because it’s an audio world I’ve created which is a true body of work. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
