Muse have unveiled brand new single “Mercy”, taken off the band’s forthcoming album Drones. The new track was premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show yesterday evening, making it the fourth track to be shared from the Drones album following “Psycho”, “Reapers” and “Dead Inside”. Drones will be released on June 8, the follow up to 2012’s The 2nd Law and the band’s seventh studio album in total. From the press release, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy explains how, “the opening line of ‘Mercy’ – ‘Help me, I’ve fallen on the inside’ – is a reference to the protagonist [of the album] knowing and recognizing that they have lost something, they have lost themselves”.
