Will Ferrell, with his upcoming films such as Zeroville now in post-production, will team up with Liz Feldman (One Big Happy, 2 Broke Girls) for a new dark comedy series that has got a straight-to-series order at Netflix. It is titled Dead To Me, and will play out over the course of 10 half-hour long episodes.
The series will focus on a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret. Feldman has penned the script and will executive produce the series and also serve as showrunner.
This is Feldman’s first Netflix series after she initially signed a deal in 2016 with CBS Television Studios after a long relationship with Warner Bros. where she created the short-lived One Big Happy and served as a member of the writing staff on 2 Broke Girls and The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the latter of which garnered her a couple of Emmys.
Little more is known about the show but Ferrell and Feldman creating together should be a blast, and it sounds like a fine addition to Netflix’s ever expanding catalogue.
