Netflix Unveils Teaser Trailer For ‘Beasts Of No Nation’ | Film News

Netflix has entered the world of film distribution and one of its major new offerings is Cary Fukunaga’s Beasts Of No Nation, Starring Idris Elba, the film takes a dark look into the world of child soldiers. Adapted from Uzodinma Iweala’s novel of the same name, the film will follow the story of a young man called Agu (Abraham Attah) who is abducted and forced into becoming a child soldier.

Elba will play a Commandant, a warlord who trains Agu. Idris is known for his dark serious characters but his depiction of this cruel and dark character is a whole new level of menacing, his cool and collected portrayal of the Commandant is somewhat distressing and sets the film up to be a truly harrowing and horrifying affair.

The film which is both directed and written by Fukunaga, is to be included in Venice and Toronto Film festivals, with Netflix making it available to stream on October 16 is several countries, the UK being one of them. US distributor Bleecker Street will also release it in certain American cinemas on the same day, which will make the film eligible for award season. Watch the trailer below.
