The musical duo, Flora Cash, has just unveiled their newest track, “I’m Tired“, a poignant reminder of the moments in our lives when words falter, emphasized by the lyric, “I’m disappointed in you, but I don’t have words.”
This song, produced in their home studio, is suffused with ethereal late-night piano melodies, aptly capturing the very essence of their sound while also hinting at a fresh musical direction.
Flora Cash’s inception story is one that resonates like a modern-day fairy tale. Almost a decade ago, the seemingly innocuous exchange of complimentary comments on SoundCloud between Shpresa from Sweden and Cole from Minnesota led to deeper conversations, long video chats, and an inevitable romance.
Their bond grew so profound that Shpresa soon traveled to the U.S., after which both relocated to Stockholm. Their journey together, in love and music, began.
However, their path to music wasn’t paved with silver spoons or inherited privilege. Both hailed from backgrounds marked by challenges. Shpresa’s childhood was marked by a perilous journey, escaping conflict in Kosovo with her family, seeking refuge and ultimately finding solace in Sweden.
It was in this safe haven, under the watchful eyes and relentless support of her parents, particularly her mother, that Shpresa discovered her love for poetry, singing, and songwriting.
Cole’s narrative, meanwhile, is one of young parents and a father incarcerated for most of his childhood. Growing up in northern Minnesota, with his mother’s perseverance and his grandparents’ unwavering support, especially his grandfather, Cole cultivated a love for music, channeling his experiences into writing and recording songs.
Together, these individual stories of resilience and passion converged, resulting in Flora Cash’s unmistakable sound. Their achievements, which include RIAA Platinum Certification in the U.S., performances on prominent television shows, and multiple international awards, while commendable, are secondary to the primary essence of Flora Cash.
Beyond the accolades, their story is a testament to the indomitable spirit of love, resilience, and the belief that our harshest constraints are those we set upon ourselves.
