Netflix have teased the third and final season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones which will bring the Netflix x Marvel Universe to an end. The streaming service announced the season will premiere on June 14.
The Jessica Jones final season synopsis reads: “When Jessica (Krysten Ritter) crosses paths with a highly intelligent psychopath, she and Trish (Rachael Taylor) must repair their fractured relationship and team up to take him down. But a devastating loss reveals their conflicting ideas of heroism and sets them on a collision course that will forever change them both”.
Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg had already announced that she’d be leaving Jessica Jones after season three and the cancellation of Netflix Marvel series. The third season will be ending own her terms instead of having different creative force behind the scenes.
Series regulars Krysten Ritter and Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Benjamin Walker, Jeremy Bobb, Sarita Choudhury, Tiffany Mack, Jessica Frances Dukes, Aneesh Sheth and Rebecca DeMornay, are all back for the final season. In other related news, the series showrunner Melissa Rosenberg is leaving Marvel to join Warner Bros. Television once Jessica Jones comes to an end.
Netflix have previously cancelled other Marvel series similar to Jessica Jones such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders, while the second season of The Punisher might be its last, with Netflix yet to confirm a third season.
