Nine years ago, Jonathan Liebesman directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, a prequel to the original film. Here comes a reimagining of that prequel that follows the killer’s early years during the 1970s, including his teens before becoming the monster that we know and love, directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury. In addition to this, the hook for the plot is Leatherface escaping from a mental institution along with three other inmates, dragging a kidnapped nurse along with them for “the road trip from Hell”. The first poster has landed for Leatherface, take a look below.
Sam Strike, Sam Coleman, James Bloor and Jessica Madsen are the escapees, with Vanessa Grasse the nurse. Stephen Dorff plays the deranged Texas lawman chasing them, and Lili Taylor is Leatherface’s mom, Vera Sawyer.
The eighth instalment of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise Leatherface is in post-production and is set for a 2016 release.
