With production of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story underway in London, the first on-set photos have come to light, giving fans a peek into the first of Marvel’s stand-alone Star Wars films. TMZ acquired the images which appear to show a life size scale model of a crashed space cruiser on a sand landscape surrounded by dead Stormtroopers. In the other image, we also see a hanger to a hidden base which implies the downed spacecraft could have been on route to the base but who was piloting the craft – the Rebel Alliance or The Empire?
Rogue One is part of a series of films that will show stories centred around the original trilogy that until now have either been mentioned on-screen or been left to the fans imagination. The Gareth Edwards directed film will explain how a group of Rebels stole the plans to the original Death Star that Luke Skywalker blows up in A New Hope. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released December 16, 2016.
