Australian-born New Zealand singer, named Georgie Levien, presents her new track titled “Taking Me Places”. It’s a track, full of sweetness and accuracy accompanied by a beautiful guitar melody in the background, which soothes us and puts us in a good mood.
Georgie was born in Melbourne and raised in Nelson, New Zealand, as a child. She quickly discovered the power of her voice and a passion for songwriting. She started taking piano, singing, and guitar classes when she was young. She participated in choirs, musical theatre productions, and school bands, as well as entering rock competitions with her band.
She also discovered a fondness for a variety of inspirations at the same time, but especially for Clairo, Phoebe Bridgers, Billie Elish, Olivia Rodrigo, and Fay Webster.
Georgie entered the “Take the Mic“ music competition in 2022, which was open to all of New Zealand. She created an original song and video, which finished in the top 6. A singer-songwriter from New Zealand is named Georgie Levien.
Her rich harmonies-heavy indie folk song has been compared to having a beautiful, disarmingly sincere, and honest singing style. The sound of “Taking Me Places” is sharp, soulful, and surprisingly light.
Georgie says about the track, “This song tells the story of liking someone and wanting them to stay in your life, but as time goes on you have to eventually watch them leave. It’s about then coming to the realisation that they never liked you as much as you liked them and having to grasp that concept. I would love for my song to go on a playlist and be able to reach a wider audience”.
