Never assume, is what my mother often told me. In the intense debate surrounding who’s going to be the next James Bond, Sam Mendes’ warning assures me that her words are still truer than ever.
“I can guarantee whatever happens with it, it will not be what you expect” the director says of the next Bond actor. This means that Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and other speculated actors may not land the job as 007. The casting, Mendes says, is down to producer Barbara Broccoli.
Mendes also again confirmed that he will be moving on to other projects as he steps away from the Bond franchise.
