Nicholas Hoult Joins Angelina Jolie In ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’ | Film News

Nicholas Hoult has joined Angelina Jolie in the upcoming wilderness thriller, Those Who Wish Me Dead. Variety adds that insiders say Tyler Perry has also joined the cast in an undisclosed role.

Taylor Sheridan (Sicario, Wind River) is directing the film, which has been described as a hard-boiled chase thriller. It’s based on Michael Koryta‘s novel, which revolves around a 14-year-old boy who witnesses a brutal murder and is forced to enter a federal protection program.

He’s issued a false identity, hidden in the wilderness, and taught survival skills. Those skills come in handy when it’s discovered the killers are slaughtering anyone who’s in their way in a methodical quest to reach him.

It’s currently unclear which role Hoult will be playing. It’s also not been confirmed which role Jolie is taking on, despite her casting being announced back in January.

This is a far different role than Hoult has recently taken on. He was last seen alongside Olivia Colman, Rachel Weisz, and Emma Stone in The Favourite, while he will next appear in the Fox Searchlight biopic Tolkien. Hoult will play the beloved Lord Of The Rings writer J.R.R. Tolkien in the movie, which hits cinemas Friday, May 10. He’ll also appear as Beast in X-Men: Dark Phoenix in June.
