Singer-Songwriter Adekunle Gold from Nigeria has revealed the new single “AG Baby” of his forthcoming album Afro Pop Vol.1. The song was created alongside Trinidadian artist Nailah Blackman.
Adekunle Kosoko known professionally as Adekunle Gold, is not a nobody to the international music scene. His 2016 debut album Gold entered the Billboard World Album chart at #7. Furthermore his second album About 30 went onto make the consideration list for the 2019 Grammy Awards ‘Best World Album’ category.
Big names like Okayafrica, The Native Magazine and Complex have supported the artists who is known for breaking creative boundaries with his music. Through his unique voice, Adekunle Gold became a vanguard of the afropop sound.
“AG Baby” connects authentic afro grooves with an infectious rhythms and a spark of pop. In the song Adekunle deals with copycats and points out his own uniqueness. “They wan copy and I see them but they all wonnabes. Number one father, Original original Don da dasings” Adekunle sings in the lyrics.
