Nigerian dancehall artist Patoranking has released his new album Three, including twelve singles between afropop, reggae and contemporary hip-hop tunes.
The projects represents a journey across Patoranking’s moods and between different genres. Furthermore his previous work and released singles already gained success by taste makers and radio stations.
Over his career, he has already collaborated with Major Lazer, Jidenna, Wizkid, Elephant Man, and has even supported iconic singer Lauryn Hill. All in all, Patoranking’s tracks have generated more than 250 million views on YouTube and over 160 million streams.
The hype around Three started when the dancey single ”Abule”, which premiered on Beats1 with Ebro as well as having its UK first listen with MistaJam on his BBC 1Xtra show.
For the project, Patoranking literally collaborated across the continent – from high class artists as Tiwa Savage for the tune “Matter” to Ghanian highlife star King Promise and Kenyan afropop band Sauti Sol.
With the LP, Patoranking shows diversity in styles, collaborators and moods. “Three is a strong number:, he says. “It stands for how I see language. In making the album, we tried to look at love, life and happiness. If you are listening to any of the tracks, even if it is a dance track, I want you to feel love“, he explains further.
