Noel Gallagher has dismissed rumours of an Oasis reunion in a new interview with Esquire, as well as characteristically lambasting contemporary musicians, with Thom Yorke‘s group in particular taking the brunt of his outspoken views.
Gallagher, who will tour with his band the High Flying Birds next spring, recounted seeing the band at Coachella Festival in 2012: “Radiohead were headlining. We were like, ‘Right, let’s give them one more chance. They were playing this post-techno. We were a bit pissed. Fucking great. And then he started singing. No. Not for us. We’re party people”.
The ex Oasis frontman also suggested that Radiohead’s music is impervious to negative critique “I reckon if Thom Yorke fucking shit into a light bulb and started blowing it like an empty beer bottle it’d probably get 9 out of 10 in fucking Mojo”.
