The day after the nominations for the Golden Globes, the nominees for the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards was also announced.
The ceremony, presented by Emily In Paris actress Lily Collins and Daveed Diggs, took place via a live Instagram on behalf of the SAG Awards. The SAG Awards themselves will air Sunday, April 4, on TNT and TBS.
Last year, the nominations were dominated by Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Irishman but the big winner of that edition was the Korean film Parasite, produced by Bong Joon Ho, winner of the famous ‘Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture’ category. A first for a film where the language is not in English.
This year’s nominees for this category are Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, Minari, One Night in Miami, Da 5 Bloods and The Trial of the Chicago 7.
These last two are also nominated in the ‘Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture’ category along with Mulan, News Of The World, and Wonder Woman 1984.
The Crown and Ozark are the leaders of this nomination. Indeed, the ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series’ category is made up exclusively of actresses who have performed in its two series. They have also been nominated in the category ‘Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series’ alongside the brand new Netflix series, Bridgerton.
We also feature the actors from the much-talked-about series The Queen’s Gambit, Bill Camp and Anya Taylor-Joy, nominated respectively for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries and Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries.
