Weston Estate wants the world to know they are “ya aunty’s fave boy band” as they put it, and “Stoked” is their brand new single.
The lo-fi, alternative band is an intriguing anomaly, named in jest after a wealthy area near to their hometown of Cary, North Carolina.
Srikar Nanduri (guitar), Manas Panchavati (vocals), Tanmay Joshi (vocals), Abhi Manhass (production, bass), and Marco Luka (vocals) are five best friends that make up the band.
They’ve delved into their cultural influences, broad range of personalities, and individual tastes to carve out a new world all their own. They are all of Indian descent, with the exception of Marco, who is a first generation Cuban-American.
Speaking about how the song came together, Weston Estate say, “We started making this song as a joke after our trip to the mountains. We wanted to make something groovy and light after we made some songs that were more serious. We had too much fun making it, and when we played it back, we realized it was simply too hard to not release“.
The band add that, “We hope people can throw this song on at a function or in the car and just dance as mindlessly as we were when we made this song”.
