Sarpa Salpa were formed in the town of Northampton in the heart of England and have transformed both physically and musically to attain what they have now. Marcus Marooth (vocals/guitar), George Neath (guitar/synth), Meg Amirghiasvand (bass/synth), and Charlie Doe (drums) are four friends whose personal tastes and talents blended to form Sarpa Salpa.
Sarpa Salpa establish a sound that is distinctively their own, with influences encompassing the indie, pop, and rock spectrums. This has earned them a loyal fanbase across the UK and beyond.
Aside from their TV and radio achievement, Sarpa Salpa are recognized for their lively and impactful live show. With nearly 200 shows under their belt, the band is now selling out venues from Manchester to Portsmouth.
They’ve played Radio 1’s Big Weekend, The Great Escape Festival, 110 Above Festival, SXSW Festival (USA), MaNo Fest (Germany), and Festival Les Expressifs (France), as well as support slots with McFly, The Amazons, and The Lottery Winners.
Sarpa Salpa follow up their well-received single ‘Dreaming’ with a brand-new single ‘She Never Lies’. The track sees the band continue to experiment with fascinating indie melodies and highly rhythmic melodies that have become entirely compatible with the band’s well-known hook-heavy sound.
Since hearing their latest single, BBC Introducing chose ‘Dreaming’ as their Track of the Week for the week of August 27th on BBC Radio 1. 8 daytime national radio plays for the track, introducing the band to an entirely new audience.
According to the band, “She Never Lies was one of the first songs we wrote together as a band! We wrote it a long time ago, when we were still rehearsing at Marcus’s (vocals) parents’ house! It’s become a live fan favorite, so it seemed like the right time to revisit it in the studio. We’re extremely proud of how it turned out and believe it’s some of our best work to date!“.
