Back to cement her place firmly in the scene, London based singer Ojerime shares with us her brand new track “I Know Now“. It marks the beginning of the next chapter in her esteemed career since 2016’s acclaimed fang2001 EP.
“I Know Now” is a clear melting pot of different sounds that have influenced the young singer. An example of Ojerime’s artistic stance – dark, twilight hours R&B. Citing the 90s golden era of the genre, she puts a modern twist on her music in the beats and electronics that surround her hypnotic vocal. All the while, she doesn’t lose the essence or herself, maintaining a distinctly British flow and feel.
Ojerime first came through with 2015’s Ojerime: The Silhouette EP and was making waves since. She has been championed by the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Huw Stephens, and publications like The Guardian and Gal-Dem. Alongside her music, Ojerime has her own creative company ‘Fang’, working with the likes of Selfridges and Levi’s on recent fashion campaigns.
“I Know Now” definitely sounds like the track to reignite the musical fire that is Ojerime. We wait in anticipation for fresh visuals and more music imminently.
