British singer and songwriter Olivia Swann says she wants you to stop sliding into her DMs on her new single titled “You Want It (But I Don’t)“, which comes on the back of the success of her last offering “Gaslight”, as well as recent support from 1Xtra’s DJ Target, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders and Apple Music’s Rebecca Judd, among others.
Written by Olivia and produced by Wayne Valentine, the track sees the London-based artist delivering her lyrical wit and R&B melodies over a funk groove driven by live guitar and bass arrangements, and signature hip-hop drums. “You Want It (But I Don’t)” celebrates moving on and feeling good enough about your decision.
According to Olivia Swann, “‘You Want It (But I Don’t)’ is exactly what it says on the tin. A huge sign saying no means ‘no, not maybe’ so what’s with the DMs?”, to which she adds, “don’t forget to send ‘You Want It (But I Don’t)’ to your ex!”
A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Olivia comes mentored by Grammy award-winning producers and songwriters such as James Fauntleroy (Kendrick Lamar, Frank Ocean) and Rance Dopson (Roddy Rich, Ella Mai), and she has also worked with Rico Love (Beyonce, Usher), while also making a name for herself as a songwriter.
