David Yates is slowly but surely collecting his established cast for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, and now he is returning to the original style of Harry Potter casting – used to collect the famous trio themselves – an open casting call.
Warner Bros. released a statement about the character Modesty, described in the casting breakdown as “a haunted young girl with an inner strength and stillness. She has an ability to see deep into people and understand them”. The specifications are as follows: The candidate must be between 8 and 12 years old, available for filming August 2015 and January 2016, and eligible to work in the UK.
Warner Bros. is planning the film to become a trilogy, in the adaptation that J. K. Rowling made from her original book. Eddie Redmayne is to star, as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who visits New York on his adventures – 70 years before Harry Potter becomes involved with Voldemort. The casting call will take place on Saturday, July 18, at Excel Center London. Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is set for a November 2016 release.
