Danny Boyle’s 1996 classic, Trainspotting, based on Irvine Welsh’s novel of the same name, was picked up for a sequel by Sony just recently, much to the pleasure of many long awaiting fans. It’s been confirmed that the film is on track to get started soon, in hopes that it can be released in time for the 20th anniversary of the original.
Many will be hoping the sequel lives up to the original, with the director himself claiming it’s “worrying” because he’ll be “absolutely crucified” if it’s unsuccessful. Luckily for fans, Trainspotting 2 is looking like it will live up to our expectations, with both the original director and cast returning to reprise their roles. Phew!
