Vin Diesel’s upcoming action epic seems to be well under way, as Paramount unveils the film’s official release date. Bearing the title xXx 3: The Return of Xander Cage, the studio has opted for a January 20th premiere on 2017.
The sequel will see the actor’s reprisal of the extreme sports artist – turned super spy action hero, who debuted in the original film back in 2002. Due to the mediocre reception it received, the franchise lay dormant for some time before the release of the lesser appreciated xXx 2: State of The Union starring Ice Cube.
Though not much is still known about the film and its premise, key details such as the appearance of martial arts heroes Tony Jaa and Donnie Yen have recently surfaced. Jet Li was initially intended to play a role in the film, but dropped out due to unknown circumstances.
