Now for me, this is pretty spectacular, my pick of the week sees Pepstar return with another Beats & Bars episode for SBTV, following his 2011 and 2013 editions and this time he’s aken it one step, or should I say, several steps further. Pepstar already looks to be set for a massive 2016 and with help from Stormzy, he has managed to yet again, lay down another memorable moment and take the elements of grime to a gospel audience.
About the eye catching performance, the man of the moment has been quoted as saying “I’m always trying to find a idea to make beats and bars more epic. I was sitting in the studio one day and had an idea of a grand church with a nice organ and a massive choir. I just thought the location and the choir alone will make it look sickkk and the special guest just took it to the next level”.
As of late its fair to say Grime’s been getting classical, with its stars taking over the Royal Albert Hall for a memorable iconic night at the BBC Proms last month, but even so, I don’t think the most biggest of fans could see this one coming. Whether you’re into gospel or not, it’s hard to deny the brilliance of the whole concept and how the pair of Pepstar and Stormzy have brought a whole new element to proceedings.
