Pharrell Williams To Be Honoured At 2023 Grammys On The Hill Awards

The 2023 Grammys on the Hill Awards, scheduled for April 26 at the Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C., will honor Pharrell Williams.

The yearly celebration honours those who have spearheaded the battle for creators’ rights by bringing together congressional officials and musicians. Additionally honoured this year will be Sen. Bill Cassidy and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York.

From his involvement in establishing groups like Black Ambition and YELLOW to his determination for social justice in working with former Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam to make Juneteenth a paid state holiday, Pharrell has shown a strong dedication to upholding creators’ rights and to charity.

Grammys on the Hill is a celebration like no other, spotlighting music’s unifying power as we bring together our nation’s leaders with some of the most renowned artists in the world,” The CEO of the Recording Academy, Harvey Mason Jr., declared in a statement.

He also added that, “It’s a privilege to honor Pharrell alongside Senate Majority Leader Schumer and Senator Cassidy, all of whom have fought tirelessly for pro-music policy that protects the creatives that make up our community.”

Live acts and famous guests will attend the awards supper and presentation. The following day, on April 27, the Recording Academy will hold the yearly Grammys on the Hill Advocacy Day, which brings together former and present Grammy nominees, as well as other industry leaders, to meet with lawmakers and talk issues affecting today’s music creators.

Yolanda Adams, Garth Brooks, Missy Elliott, Quincy Jones, John Mayer, then-Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren have all received recognition at Grammys on the Hill over the past 21 years.

The Music Modernization Act, among other significant legislative victories for the music business, was a result of the yearly advocacy gathering.
