PJ Harvey, known for a unique rock sound, has released her latest track: “Guilty”. The track was recorded during the production of her last studio album The Hope Six Demolition Project. This album was produced in 2015 whilst Harvey worked on the Recording In Progress project at Somerset House.
Despite the added pressure, the track has emerged beautifully with its new age rock sound, full of atmosphere and feeling. It’s clunky and metallic (in a good way), and it reveals the manipulation of the instruments and the creative outlook both Harvey and her band have when producing music. It combines a rock structure with a pop tempo, so it works on more than one level.
