PJ Harvey has released a new song titled “The Wheel” from her upcoming album The Hope Six Demolition Project, the album’s release date is set for April 15. PJ Harvey previous studio album was her critically acclaimed Let England Shake, released back in 2011.
Since then, Harvey has been busy creating her upcoming album and travelling with photographer Seamus Murphy during 2011-2014. The Pair went to countries such as Kosovo, Afghanistan and Washington, DC. PJ Harvey also wrote her book of poetry The Hollow Of The Hand during the trip, it was published last year.
The video features footage of Harvey’s travels in Kosovo and Harvey said in a press release “When I’m writing a song I visualize the entire scene. I can see the colors, I can tell the time of day, I can sense the mood, I can see the light changing, the shadows moving, everything in that picture. Gathering information from secondary sources felt too far removed for what I was trying to write about. I wanted to smell the air, feel the soil and meet the people of the countries I was fascinated with“. You can watch the video below:
