After his massive single, “Human”, Rag’n’Bone Man comes forward with “Skin”. At the age of just fifteen he started rapping in his hometown of Uckfield and then at nineteen, encouraged by his father, he started singing at local blues nights. Now he counts Chaka Khan, De La Soul and Elton John amongst his fans.
“Skin” is deep and bluesy to the core, soulful organ transporting you to American gospel. Subdued, industrial drum pounds in the distance and that voice is ever at the front. Deep bass embellishes a feel of sheer emphatic determination. Flighty strings endeavour to take him to those peaks, on top of the world. These see out the track as it fades into the ethereal.
