Nottingham based spoken word artist, visualartist and creative practitioner, Raphael Blake, presents the ‘IT’S MORE THAN POETRY’ agency launch party on Saturday, September 24, at the Nottingham Rough Trade.
‘It’s More Than Poetry’ is a mini creative media agency, and the launch will be a showcase of his self-made website for the event, and will include a headline performance from the lyrical Lion himself and his full band, with support from Trekkah, Daisy Godfrey, LTMT and more!
Blake’s poetry and visual media creations have won the support of various BBC Radio stations and secured international online press coverage from Atlanta to South Africa, Germany to Ghana. As a creative practitioner he has spent a season shooting music videos for artists, running Creative Writing and Visual Media Workshops in schools and youth clubs and doing websites/logo/branding for startup businesses.
His poetic talents have been showcased on Notts TV, playlisted on Kemet FM in addition to securing him online press coverage from the likes of Complex, Clash, and Hunger TV.
After performing at LOVEBOX and completing the summer at Splendour Festival 2016 with full 5 piece live band, Blake is launching called ‘It’s More Than Poetry’ as a company that’s sole mission is to empower people and engage communities through visual media, digital arts and creative writing.
This will be the first time anyone has seen Blake perform a set with his new 5 piece live band outside of the Splendour gates, so definitely a night not to be missed!
