Aby Coulibaly has shared a new music video for her latest release “Long Nights”, which was filmed in her home town Dublin. Aby explains that, “the music video was directed by Monjola and Sam Fallover… just me having having a good time with friends and playing PlayStation and that’s what we did.We shot it all in the same day”.
Praised by the likes of The Independent and Notion, she has been described as “taking honeyed R&B to new heights” by Wonderland magazine, while Complex describe her as ” Soultry R&B“, with Earmilk adding that, “the potential of a true superstar is right here”.
Music has been her passion since childhood and as a songwriter, she finds empowerment in expressing vulnerability at the same time as unloading her anxieties and frustrations. last year, she created her own label, Chamomile Records, in 2020.
The track “Long Nights” relates to the artist’s ability to look over the nuances of sensitive situations and issues of blame, while the relationship breaks down but Aby is confident she will rise above it, with Monjo providing the foundations for Aby to excel with snappy beats, rolling bass and waves of keys summing up to a modernist take on R&B and soul.
