Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea Takes Up Beekeeping | Music News

It’s been revealed that animal lover Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers has been beekeeping since the band are currently not on tour. Whilst working on their upcoming album, Flea has decided to help the rapid decline in honey bees by maintaining three beehives at his home. Each hive contains around 60,000 bees. The bassist has posted some pictures on Instagram, with one caption reading: “Me about to get busy with my beautiful little bees that I love“.

According to the National Resources Defense Council, “nearly one-third of all honey bee colonies in [the US] have vanished“, for no real reason, since 2006. This can affect the production of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. To find out what you can do to help, check out this list of possibilities.
