Renowned shoe designer Vince Camuto lost his battle with cancer and was pronounced dead at his home in Greenwich, Connecticut on Wednesday (January 21). According to WWD.com, he was surrounded by his five children and his wife Louise. It was his wife, Miss Sweden 1989 who broke the news to Camuto’s company where she acts as creative director. Vince became apparent in the fashion world after he co-founded the shoe brand Nine West in 1978, fashion house the Camuto Group in 2001 and fashion label Vince Camuto in 2005.
Singer Jessica Simpson shared her condolences via Instagram where she wrote, “‘It is never about one person. It’s the teams you put in place. Without the right people, you’re nowhere’ – Vince Camuto. Thank you, Vince, for the humble power that has taken me everywhere. You are my mentor, my family, the creator of all my dreams. I will forever walk in your shoes…you made them. #brokenheart“. Camuto assisted Jessica in launching her brand in 2005. His death is a great loss to the fashion world.
