Though it’s been a custom for many television shows to keep their main protagonist alive for the most part, it seems like The Walking Dead‘s creator is more than open to a little more uniqueness to his long running show.
Addressing a question during his Reddit ‘AMA‘, a fan asked “Do Rick die”. Clearly spotting the grammatical error, he responded in kind by simply suggesting “He do Eventually”. Despite the comedic value behind the exchange, this is quite obviously a big game changer to the series continuity. Considering that the majority of the story began with Rick’s discovery of the new world, it would seem quite strange that we see the story continue without him.
Though in regards to fan favourites if such an event were to occur, we’ll most likely see Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) or Michonne (Danai Gurira) take on the the series helm.
