The one and only Italian actor Roberto Benigni is going to receive an exceptional award this year. The 2021 Venice Film Festival is going to make the honor of giving Roberto the Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award!
This award is the highest price possible at the film festival as well as in the film industry. Having this award really recognizes the work and talent of the recipient. Well Roberto, after more than 50 years of working in this industry, is one of the most acknowledged actors in Italy and worldwide.
Roberto Benigni has been in many films which have had great success but we must recognize his work and role in the iconic 1997 film La Vita è Bella, which he wrote, directed, and produced along with his wife Nicoletta Braschi. This film has been one of the most rewarded films he made with over five awards.
Recently, with his role in Pinocchio, playing Gepetto in Matteo Garrone’s live-action adaptation, he has found more success, with the film being nominated at the 2021 Oscars. Roberto just keeps on delivering more and more reasons to have this award.
Roberto described his feeling receiving this award saying, “My heart is full of joy and gratitude. It is an immense honor to receive such an important recognition of my work from the Venice International Film Festival“.
