Netflix Unveils New Catalogue Of Spanish Original Programming | TV News

During its presentation on Thursday 15 April, Netflix revealed that a number of Spanish programs were in the pipeline, including three new drama series, two original films, and a few unscripted formats, including a new reality docuseries about Instagram star Georgina Rodríguez.

Among the new series, we can mention Intimidad, created by Verónica Fernández and Laura Sarmiento, and directed by Jorge Torregrossa, Ben Gutteridge, Marta Font, Koldo Almandoz.

It will star Itziar Ituño, Patricia López Arnaiz, Verónica Echegui, Ana Wagener and Emma Suárez. The series will focus on 4 women who are forced to cross the line between private and public life following the publication of a sex tape of a politician.

There is also Baruca, an action series in 6 episodes. Directed by Óscar Pedraza, this series will star Alberto Ammann and Luis Callejo. The plot takes place in a psychiatric prison taken hostage by a group of armed men.

The last series is called Si Lo Hubiera Sabido, a Spanish adaptation of the Turkish series If Only, whose production was refused a filming permit by the Turkish Ministry of Culture. The series focuses on Emma who is unhappy in her marriage, when she is thrust into 2008, with her 30-year-old mind trapped in her 20-year-old body, putting her whole life into perspective.

As for films, we have A través de mi Ventana, the adaptation of Ariana Godoy‘s bestselling novel, and Eres tú, a romantic comedy produced by the director of the famous Elite series.

There will also be a docu-reality show about Spanish influencer, model, and entrepreneur Georgina Rodriguez, which will offer a glimpse into the life of the Argentine-born, Spanish-raised influencer.

Release dates for these programs have not yet been announced but this should happen by the end of 2021.
