Roberto Orci Confirms His ‘Star Trek 3’ Script Will Not Be Used | Film News

The news that Robert Orci’s script for Star Trek 3 will not be used, doesn’t come as much surprise considering his reason for not directing the third film in the new Star Trek franchise was “creative differences”. To help clarify his role in the film, Orci took to Trek Movie to make a few comments; I’m producing, nothing more or less”. He went on to continue to talk about who exactly would write the script; “I won’t lie, I don’t know yet, but the story we are talking about would be awesome, hang in there”.

With the July 2016 release date looming, they’ll want to get a writer on board as soon as possible, so hopefully news on that will be coming in thick and fast! While I’m not surprised Orci’s script won’t be used, I’ve got faith that his production duties will allow him to get his mark in there somehow and with Justin Lin taking the role of director, fans and critics alike are just looking for an awesome film.
