“At first when I was writing this song I was just simping over the perfect girl”, thomTide shares, “It felt very one-dimensional; it didn’t feel realistic. I wanted to talk about approaching her… it’s meant to be confusing, but still exciting. I wanted doubt and hope to exist right next to each other, because that’s a compelling (maybe not always pleasant) feeling I’ve felt so many times before”.
