Scott Derrickson Could Be Directing Marvel’s ‘Doctor Strange’ | Film News
Scott Derrikckson, director of the latest horror film Deliver Us From Evil is in line to direct the upcoming film Doctor Strange from the Marvel Comic books. Marvel previously reported that they had three other candidates in consideration to direct this film which includes Mark Andrews (Brave), Jonathan Levine, Nikolaj Arcel and Dean Israelite.
New reports suggest that the list may now have been whittled down to three – Derrickson, Andrews and Levine. The Marvel character Doctor Strange is a former neurosurgeon turned sorcerer who protects Earth against magical threats. Legendary super hero creator Stan Lee created the character Doctor Strange in 1963 for the comic book Strange Tales.
