I guess when you have two huge stars in your film, who needs a good title? Whatever Flarsky is, or means, we know it’s going to be a comedy starring Charlize Theron and Seth Rogen.
Jonathan Levine (Warm Bodies, plus already two Rogen collaborations with 50/50 and The Night Before) will direct with Dan Sterling (The Interview) penning the script.
The plot is described as so: “Rogen will play an unemployed journalist, battered by his own misfortune and self-destructive ways, who endeavours to pursue Theron’s character — who was his childhood crush and babysitter and now happens to be one of the most powerful and unattainable women on earth”.
Whether the title is someone’s name, a company, a saying (maybe the mystery is part of the appeal?), Rogen teaming up with an actress of Theron’s calibre is intriguing. Of course it’s hard to judge a comedy from its plot description, but Levine’s track record is solid and should inspire confidence. Production is set to commence in August.
Theron is slated to next appear in The Fate Of The Furious and Atomic Blonde, Rogen alongside James Franco in both Zeroville and The Disaster Artist, while Levine’s next film, Snatched, starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn, will hit cinemas Friday, May 20.
